April Book Discussion - Better Than I know Myself

1. Which character do you believe grows and changes the most through the course of the novel? Which character has it the “easiest?” The hardest?

2. Carmen, Jewell, and Regina come from such different backgrounds and have markedly different personalities. In real life, do you find this enhances friendships or makes them harder? Why or why not?

  1. I think all three women changed significantly, they each had very different obstacles to overcome. Having friends with different backgrounds and personalities definitely enhances friendships of course there will be difficulties along the way but what relationship doesn't have its UPS and downs.
I enjoyed the book overall it started a bit slow but got more interesting as I continued.

  2. I feel as though all of the women endured life changes throughout the book. Although all of their circumstances were different they were all very great; drug addiction, cancer and forced adoption. All made huge impacts on thier lives and in the ned I think it was for the best. No one had it easy, and they all had it "hard." Regina took awhile but she too changed!

  3. Different personalities can make and break friendships. I think to a degree different personalities are okay in a freindship as it enables you to receive a different perspective on situations. They can also be not so okay... or trysome. Although people bring many facets to a friendship there will always be an underlying common factor that attracted one towards the other.
